Logging food

Can I copy the same meals each day so I don't have to enter them again?

Yes. You can copy any food you've logged to another meal or another day:

  1. On the Home screen, tap the food you want to copy.
  2. Tap Copy to meal.
  3. Use the ‹ and › arrows to choose the day.
  4. Tap the meal you want it added to.

The food is copied with the same amount. Copying works one food at a time.

How do I move a food to a different meal or day?
  1. On the Home screen, tap the food.
  2. Tap Move Entry.
  3. Use the ‹ and › arrows to choose the day.
  4. Tap the meal you want to move it to.

Tapping a food also lets you Edit Serving or Delete Entry.

What's the quickest way to log foods I eat often?
  • Recently logged: tap + Add on a meal and the foods you've logged before are listed first, so you don't need to search for them.
  • Favourites: when you search, tap the ☆ next to a food to save it. Your saved foods are under the ★ Favourites tab.
How do I scan a barcode?

Go to the Log tab and tap Barcode, then point your camera at the barcode.

If the product isn't in our database yet, the app lets you add it by taking a photo of the nutrition panel. Products added this way are checked before they show for everyone.

Can I log a meal from a photo?

Yes. On the Log tab, tap Photo and take a photo of your meal. The AI picks out the foods and estimates the macros. Tap any item to change its weight or macros, and untick anything that shouldn't be counted.

Photo results are estimates, so check them. Free accounts get a small number of photo scans; Premium includes 20 a day. The scan screen shows how many you have left.

What if a food's nutrition info is wrong?

When you open a food to log it, tap Report incorrect nutrition info under it and tell us what's wrong. You can also email support@macroledgr.com.au. See where our data comes from.

Can I see kilojoules instead of calories?

Yes. Tap ⚙️ on the Home screen to open Settings, then tap Energy Unit to switch between calories and kilojoules (kJ). The whole app changes over.

Meal plans

How do meal plans work?

Go to the Plan tab and tap Generate Today's Plan. The plan is built to hit your calorie and protein targets.

  • Australia: plans use real Australian supermarket products.
  • Singapore: plans use hawker dishes, kopi and local food.
  • New Zealand: meal plans aren't available yet.

Free accounts can generate 3 daily plans. Premium unlocks unlimited plans and the 7-Day Plan.

Can I change a meal in my plan?

Yes. Tap any meal in your plan to:

  • Log This Meal straight into your diary,
  • Suggest another meal instead,
  • Swap for cheat meal, or
  • log a different food by searching, scanning a barcode or using a photo.
What are Elevate, Side salad and Cooking preference?

On the Plan tab, tap Adjust plan to choose how your plan is built:

  • Elevate: adds a sauce or marinade to lift the meal. It isn't available with the Quick or Ready cooking styles, because it needs cooking.
  • Side salad: adds a salad alongside protein meals.
  • Cooking preference: Quick, Home, Ready, Mix, or No Salads.

In Singapore, "Side salad" is replaced by "Lighter picks", which swaps one meal a day for a lighter soup or porridge dish.

Recipes

Can I import a recipe from Instagram?

Yes (Premium, including the free trial). Two ways:

  • In Instagram, tap Share on the recipe post and choose MacroLedgr.
  • Or on the Home screen tap Recipes, then + Import, and paste the recipe text or add a screenshot of it. This works for recipes from anywhere, not just Instagram.

We use the creator's macros when the post lists them, and work them out from the ingredients when it doesn't. The macros are shown per serve. Check them before you save.

A screenshot uses one of your daily AI scans. Pasting text doesn't.

How do I log a recipe I've saved?

On the Home screen tap Recipes and open the recipe. Choose how many serves and which meal, then tap the Log button. It's added to today's diary.

Premium & account

What does Premium include?
  • Apple Health and Apple Watch sync (iPhone) or Health Connect sync (Android).
  • AI photo scans, 20 a day.
  • Unlimited meal plans, including 7-day plans (Australia and Singapore).
  • Saving recipes from Instagram, with macros per serve.
  • Grocery lists sorted by store (Australia).
  • Mac, your AI coach, on the Home screen.

Current prices are shown in the app when you tap Upgrade to Premium.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The monthly plan starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, with full Premium access. If you don't want to be charged, cancel at least a day before the trial ends (see below).

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not by us:

  • In the app, open Settings and tap Manage Subscription, or
  • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions,
  • Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings and tap Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all your data, including your diary, weight history, goals and favourites. It can't be undone. You can also request deletion online.

How do I get help?

Tap the ? button at the top of the Home screen, or email support@macroledgr.com.au.
